Abstract
The dataset was produced with the version 4.8 of the Global Multiscale Environmental (GEM) model installed on Compute Canada. The clouds and precipitation are produced with the Predicted Particle Properties (P3) module. We used a horizontal grid-spacing of 1 km.
Purpose
The database was developed to conduct a study of an extreme freezing rain storm over the province of New Brunswick in January 2017. It caused major power outages during up to more than 10 days. The storm produced up to 100 mm of precipitation with 60 mm of ice accumulation on structures.
