Abstract
This dataset comprises of various hydrological variables including, but not limited to, streamflow, soil moisture, and snow water equivalent (SWE) for the Yukon River Basin in northern Canada. Variables are produced via simulations from the hydrology land-surface model MESH. Forecasts focus on streamflow and the system was run from April 20 to Sep 30, 2020. MERIT-hydro DEM and NALC 2010 datasets were used to develop the model. Historical streamflow data from Water Survey of Canada (WSC) were used to calibrate/validate the model. RDPS, GSPS and RDPA are downloaded daily to run the model in hindcast then forecast modes. Real time gauge data from WSC is also added to the forecast plots and used for nudging of simulated flows as needed.
Purpose
Develop and parameterize a MESH model for the Yukon River Basin (till Eagle) as part of the Yukon Streamflow Forecast System
