Abstract
This dataset contains field observations, model driving data, and model outputs associated with the study “Simulation of year-round soil-water processes and crop biomass using a coupled modeling platform in Saskatchewan, Canada.” The dataset was developed to support evaluation and application of a coupled SHAW–AquaCrop-OSPy modeling platform for year-round soil-water processes, snow accumulation and melt, freeze–thaw dynamics, growing-season soil water, evapotranspiration, and crop biomass/yield simulation at an agricultural site in Saskatchewan, Canada.
The field observation folder includes evapotranspiration data, snow survey measurements, neutron probe volumetric water content, and dielectric probe volumetric water content. The model input folder includes the driving meteorological data used to force the simulations. The model output folder includes AquaCrop-OSPy outputs for crop growth, soil-water storage, and water fluxes, as well as SHAW outputs for soil moisture, temperature, liquid water, frost, snow, energy, canopy, root, and water-balance variables. These files are intended to support interpretation, reuse, and verification of the model simulations and results presented in the associated manuscript.
